Jazz up a small bathroom with these tweaks

Bathroom envy is a real thing. We often wish we could have a bathroom just like the one in the fancy hotel we recently stayed in. Or maybe like one of those on Pinterest?

But the reality is that we have a tiny bathroom, with no space to beautify it. Well, here’s how to totally transform it into the dream bathroom:

1. Get built-in furniture

Besides not having to fuss about assembling multiple pieces of furniture, the beauty of built-in furniture is that it’s designed to work with the available space. Since it’s custom made, add some personal design touches to it.

2. Big baskets

Lacking space to store stuff is no longer an excuse with these big woven baskets. They’re super affordable, durable, and very versatile. Plus, they add a hint of Scandinavian living into the bathroom.

3. Stay neutral

Use neutral colours like beige and different shades of white for the little bathroom. These colours will make it look a little more spacious, and give it a clean look too.

4. Add a little bright-coloured piece

A bit of fun colour is always the best way to add some personality to the look and feel of the space. It could be in the form of a bathroom mat, towels, or even a feature wall

5. Round instead of square basins

A round basin gives more space to play around with on a square or rectangular bathroom counter. It’s a good place to park all the bath necessities if there’s no space for a cupboard. Round basins are also quite trendy.

6. Use glass

Instead of using curtains or building a barrier between the shower and toilet areas, install a glass panel. It makes the room more spacious and really elegant as well.

7. Add a big mirror

Mirrors work just as well as glass in making a small space look much bigger. Big mirrors can also make the bathroom look more pristine and classy.

8. Build a shampoo niche

To get that fancy hotel and spa feeling, have a shampoo niche. It is a great way to store toiletries and save space at the same time.

9. Use the same floor tiles for the whole bathroom

It’s always best to keep the floor tiles the same throughout the entire bathroom. Budget aside, it also helps make the small bathroom look a little wider.
